Mid-Year BNGAP Pre-Faculty Development Conference National Leadership Awards

Program Description: Recognition awards given at the Mid-Year BNGAP Pre-Faculty Development Conference to honor entities that have led in the development of a diverse pre-faculty workforce. Three awards given annually recognizing two individuals and one organization/institution.

Award Categories (Set 1 - Three National Leadership Awards):

1. Junior Leadership Award
- Recognizes an individual serving as a health-related graduate school trainee who has led activities to promote development of diverse pre-faculty workforce

2. Health Professional Leadership Award
- Recognizes an individual as a health-related professional who has led activities to promote development of diverse pre-faculty workforce

3. Organizational/Institutional Leadership Award
- Recognizes a health-related organization/institution that has led activities to promote development of diverse pre-faculty workforce

Award Categories (Set 2 - Pre-Faculty Awards):

  • Recognition for medical students, residents, and/or fellows exhibiting exceptional early educational, research, and/or service scholarship

  • Recognition for those who have strengthened their foundation to serve as future faculty members
  • Focus Areas:

  • Educational activities promoting diverse pre-faculty workforce development

  • Research scholarship and innovation

  • Leadership and service activities

  • Building and sustaining diverse academic workforce

  • Commitment to quality care for all
  • Eligibility:

  • Must be enrolled as BNGAP member at time of submission (free enrollment available)

  • Applicants include medical students, residents, fellows, graduate trainees, and health professionals

  • Organizations and institutions eligible for organizational award
