Eligibility:

  • Must be a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization

  • Must demonstrate financial stability

  • Must demonstrate sustainability for the future

  • Must have a tangible project in need of funding

  • Project must be focused on improving the physical health of the community

  • Organizations that have received other large special event fundraiser or capital campaign funding in past 3 years must disclose amounts and timing

    Application Process

    Deadline: 5 p.m. on Monday, September 1 (for 2015 tournament and beyond)

    Required Materials:
    1. One-page letter of interest (required)
    2. Most recent tax exemption letter (IRS 501(c)(3) documentation)
    3. Past two years of audited financial statements
    4. Current year financial statements
    5. List of current board of directors
    6. List of current funding sources
    7. Disclosure of other large fundraisers or capital campaigns (past 3 years and anticipated future)

    Letter of Interest Content (required to include):

  • Mission of the agency

  • Description of project to be funded, including the purpose

  • Amount being requested ($200,000-$225,000 range)

  • Full budget detail for the project

  • Target audience and number of citizens expected to be reached

  • Explanation of how the project will improve health and quality of life

  • Why the need is strong and compelling

  • Why applicant believes project would have community appeal

  • Why a community member would want to give money to this project
  • Disclosure Requirements:

  • Must disclose if recipient of any other large special event fundraiser or capital campaign in past 3 years

  • Must include amounts received from such fundraisers

  • Must disclose expected receipt of large fundraisers in next year
