About McLaughlin Family Foundation Our mission is "Create change in central Oklahoma that helps disadvantaged children and their families reach their full potential." Our vision is to "Break the cycle of lost potential in disadvantaged families in Central Oklahoma." The McLaughlin Family Foundation provides grants to innovative, entrepreneurial, high-impact nonprofit agencies. Since starting out around Dave and Jean’s dining room table in 2004, they have given away hundreds of grants, primarily in the Oklahoma City area. They also do impact investing, using some of their corpus to benefit causes that align with their mission. Collaboration is important and the McLaughlin Family Foundation builds connections among their grantees, as well as with other funders and community partners. McLaughlin Family Foundation, both as an organization and as individual board members, invests time and resources within the Oklahoma City community. Besides grants and impact investing, the Foundation board supports capacity building for its grantees, hosting numerous training “Lunch and Learns” each year. The Foundation board members, individually, serve on a number of area boards and commissions. Together, the members of the McLaughlin Family Foundation work to empower and encourage organization that work to break negative cycles and do prevention work. The McLaughlin Family Foundation is a member of Exponent Philanthropy, Philanthropy Southwest and the OKC Funders’ Forum.
