Mathematics Pathways Awards

Overview: The Texas Success Center recognizes excellence in the implementation of mathematics pathways by presenting annual awards to colleges that exemplify each of the four Dana Center Mathematics Pathways principles.

Geographic Scope: Texas community colleges

Award Categories:

  • Overall Exemplar: Recognizes one college as the year's overall exemplar for excellence in implementing all four mathematics pathways principles

  • Principle 1 Exemplar: All students, regardless of college readiness, enter directly into mathematics pathways

  • Principle 2 Exemplar: Students complete their first college-level mathematics requirement in their first year of college

  • Principle 3 Exemplar: Strategies to support students as learners are integrated into courses and are aligned across the institution

  • Principle 4 Exemplar: Instruction incorporates evidence-based curriculum and pedagogy
  • Four Dana Center Mathematics Pathways Principles:
    1. All students, regardless of college readiness, enter directly into mathematics pathways
    2. Students complete their first college-level mathematics requirement in their first year of college
    3. Strategies to support students as learners are integrated into courses and are aligned across the institution

    Award History: Awards have been presented annually since at least 2015, recognizing colleges for exemplary implementation of mathematics pathways reforms.
