Overview

Greater Together Community Funds (GTCF) The Hartford Foundation has created 29 community funds, one for each of the towns in our region to foster participatory grantmaking. The Greater Together Community Funds (GTCF) is a Foundation program that supports the communities in our region in taking ownership around the needs in their towns, encourages broad and inclusive civic engagement, and anchors the Hartford Foundation in each town. Marlborough Greater Together Community Fund Grant The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving has established a $100,000 Greater Together Community Fund for the Town of Marlborough. The Marlborough GTCF supports the community in taking ownership around the needs of the town and encourages broad and inclusive civic engagement. The purpose of the Greater Together Community Funds is to: support the community in taking ownership around the needs in their townsencourage broad and inclusive civic engagement andanchor the Hartford Foundation in each town. Organizations receiving a grant must agree to submit a final report to the Marlborough GTCF Committee outlining how the funds were used.

Eligibility

The project must positively impact residents of Marlborough.Organizations that support the Marlborough community are encouraged to apply for a grant.To be considered, the organization must be a registered nonprofit with a 501(c)3 designation as a public charity or must obtain a fiscal sponsor registered as a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Groups of town residents may prepare an application in partnership with a registered nonprofit that has agreed to serve as a fiscal sponsor for the proposed project.

Ineligibility

Section 509(a)(3) charities and private foundations are not eligible..The project must not be religious in nature.The applying organization may be a religious organization, so long as the project does not have a religious purpose.
