About the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving Founded in 1925, the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving is the community foundation for Greater Hartford - the City of Hartford and 28 surrounding towns. The Hartford Foundation Scholarship Program helps award hundreds of scholarships each year to local students seeking post-secondary higher education. Eligibility

Will attend a 2-year or 4-year college or university, part-time or full-time. Pursuing a career in the helping professions, including but not limited to social work, psychology, human services, and public health. Have financial need as determined by the FSS (FAFSA Submission Summary) of the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Are goal-and mission-oriented.
