Macy-Gyorgy Award for Research in Human Milk and Lactation
Purpose: Biennial lifetime achievement award to honor individuals who have made outstanding, original scientific contributions to the study of human milk and lactation.

- Qualifications: Senior scientist whose work has been recognized internationally and whose papers have appeared in excellent peer-reviewed journals
- Membership and participation in the Society may be considered but are not essential criteria
- Active members of the Executive Committee are not eligible

- Plaque and/or certificate from the Executive Committee
- Invitation to attend the next ISRHML Biennial Scientific Conference with travel, lodging, and registration paid by the Society
- Recipient introduced by nominator and presented award by the President
Nature of Award
Background
This award recognizes lifetime achievement in the field of human milk and lactation research. Past recipients include notable scientists such as Robert G. Jensen (1995), Bo Lönnerdal (2002), Peter Hartmann (2006), and Olle Hernell (2021).Status: Applications currently closed
How to Apply
Nomination Process
1. Nomination Requirements: Candidate must be nominated by two members in good standing of the Society
2. Required Documents:
- Primary nomination letter
- Seconding letter of nomination
- Curriculum vitae of the candidate
- Three of the most significant research publications from the nominee
3. Submission: Documents sent to the President of the Society
4. Deadline: At least six months before the ISRHML Biennial Scientific Conference
- Awards Committee recommends nominees to the Executive Committee
- Selection requires majority affirmative vote from the Executive Committee
