MAATA Member Scholar Award

Overview: Award providing one year of professional membership to recognize and promote professional association involvement among students who have never held memberships.

Geographic Scope: Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers Association District III (Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, and District of Columbia)

Award Details:

  • 1 year membership to the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA)

  • 1 year membership to MAATA (District III)

  • 1 year membership to home state association

  • Three (3) awards given annually

    • Eligibility:

  • Professional or student member of athletic training program

  • Never been a member of NATA, MAATA, or home state association

  • Must be from South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, or District of Columbia

    • Purpose: To promote the importance of active membership in professional associations and encourage volunteerism and leadership at national, district, and state levels.
