Overview

NOTE: To initiate the grant application process, please fill out the Online Grant Inquiry Form within the designated open application season. After receiving the inquiry, we will assess its eligibility. If deemed eligible, you will be assigned a unique grant reference number and provided with a link to submit the complete grant application. Inquiries are accepted annually in February and July via our website. Once the foundation receives the maximum amount of inquiries, the online grant inquiry form page is disabled and an applicant will have to wait until the next cycle to submit an inquiry.Letter of Inquiry deadlines serve as the best date possible to apply to ensure that an inquiry can be received by the Foundation.Completed applications must be received before March 31 for consideration at the summer meeting and before September 30 for consideration at the winter meeting. The Loyola Foundation recommends applicants complete and submit applications as far ahead of the deadlines as possible. Due to the high volume of submissions, those received towards the end of March or the end of September may not be considered for the respective funding cycle. Loyola Foundation Grant The Loyola Foundation assists overseas Catholic mission projects, primarily in less developed countries. Requests must be capital in nature (i.e. construction, equipment, vehicles). Projects included: Installation of solar power plants and water wells. Construction of churches, seminaries, convents, meeting halls, schools, and health clinics. Purchase of books, computers, medical equipment and vehicles.

Eligibility

Is it a capital project (construction, equipment or a vehicle)? Can your project be finished for $20,000 (or less)? Can you obtain written approval for your project from the local Diocesan ordinary?Only one grant request per Diocese is accepted for consideration in any given calendar year. Individual grant recipients must wait a minimum of three years before reapplying to the Foundation. Should the Trustees deny a particular request, the same grant application cannot be submitted again.

Ineligibility

The Foundation does not accept requests for operating expenses, scholarships, tuition, endowment funds, travel expenses or meeting costs. The Foundation does not make multi-year grant or grants for emergency needs, minor seminaries, or individuals. The Loyola Foundation generally does not consider requests for projects located in the United States.
