Overview

Energy Fellowship In an effort to foster education and innovation in the area of societal production and utilization of energy, the Link Foundation invites applications for: 2-year fellowships of $35,000 / year for students working toward a Ph.D. degree. Funding The award consists of a two-year fellowship of $35,000 per year for two years (total of $70,000) to be used for the Fellow’s academic year and summer stipend. Funding for year 2 is not evaluated competitively, but is contingent upon satisfactory progress in year 1. Charges not considered legitimate (as examples) include: tuition, summer salary or other compensation for the research director, pooled or overhead costs, and salary for support staff (e.g., secretarial or clerical help). It is expected that the Fellow’s institution will waive or assume tuition charges, and that the Fellow will be enrolled on a full-time basis for the duration of this award. Support of Fellows in addition to the fellowship stipend is permitted only when necessary to bring the stipend up to the norm at the Fellow's university. Second year support is contingent upon a letter of endorsement signed by the Fellow’s research advisor and departmental chair to be received by March 15 of the first year of the fellowship. Fellows will be required to prepare a formal report describing their activities due by September 1 following the expiration of the fellowship.
