Overview: One-time $100,000 grant awarded to Marshall County Community Foundation to strengthen its leadership capacity and support community development initiatives through the Marshall County Crossroads team and enFocus Fellows program.

  • Part of GIFT VII initiative (launched 2018)

  • $125 million total made available for grants nationally through GIFT VII

  • MCCF also received GIFT VII planning grant in 2019

  • In March 2020, MCCF was invited to apply for GIFT VII Community Leadership Grant to implement strategies identified during planning period

    • Program Background:

  • Lilly Endowment created GIFT (Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow) in 1990

  • GIFT helps local communities develop philanthropic capacity to identify needs and challenges

  • MCCF planning phase (2019-2020) involved over 100 volunteers

  • Marshall County Crossroads became new 501(c)(3) nonprofit

    • EnFocus Fellowship Component:

  • enFocus has placed over 800 young professionals in northern Indiana communities

  • Fellows discover, design, and implement innovative solutions

  • Support community discovery with data collection and analysis

  • Assist with coalition building

  • Build organizational strength through implementation of solutions

  • Share project management, training, and evaluation techniques
