Liberty Mutual Scholarship Grant

The Liberty Mutual Scholarship, funded by the Liberty Mutual Foundation, offers financial support to students pursuing degrees in industrial hygiene and related fields. Over 30 years, AIHF has awarded over $3.1 million to eligible students. Applicants must be enrolled in specific accredited programs by Fall 2026. The scholarship encourages applications from all qualified students, including those not in listed programs, provided a school administrator submits a justification for their inclusion.

AIHF Scholarships: Application & Eligibility
Over the past 30 years, the American Industrial Hygiene Foundation (AIHF) has awarded more than $3.1 million to students studying industrial hygiene and/or occupational and environmental health safety.
The Liberty Mutual Scholarship is made possible thanks to a generous donation from the Liberty Mutual Group.

Eligibility

In awarding the Liberty Mutual Scholarship, students meeting the AIHF general ​scholarship criteria are eligible.AIHF Scholarships: Application & EligibilityAll full or part-time students who will be enrolled in one of the following programs at the start of the Fall 2026 semester are eligible to apply:A graduate or undergraduate degree program that is fully ABET-accredited under the Industrial Hygiene and similarly named programs; Environmental, Health, and Safety and similarly named programs, or Occupational Safety and Health and similarly named programs criteria.A graduate public health degree program fully accredited by CEPH, with a program concentration in Environment Health with a focus in Industrial Hygiene or Occupational Health.An Industrial Hygiene or similarly named program offered at a NIOSH-ERC or a NIOSH Training Project Grant in Industrial Hygiene.AIHA Student Local Section in good standing.Industrial hygiene or similarly named program at one of the following Canadian institutions: McGill UniversityUniversity of British Columbia Universite de MontrealUniversite du Quebec a Trois-Rivieres University of Toronto.The M.S. in Occupational and Environmental Hygiene program at New York University (NYU).Students not enrolled in any of the listed programs above are still eligible to apply.To qualify, a school administrator must complete a separate application​ justifying why their program/students should be considered for an AIHF scholarship. Students who submit a completed scholarship application will be considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible.
