Overview
Leadership Springfield
Overview: Leadership Springfield is a premier leadership training program offered by The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce. It is a 14-week series of half-day programs during which participants gain leadership skills and in-depth exposure to critical issues affecting the Springfield area.
- Duration: 14 weeks of half-day programs
- Time Commitment: Half day per week from September through mid-December, plus approximately 10 hours outside of program sessions for required team projects
- Geographic Scope: Sangamon County, Illinois
Program Details
- Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalency
- Live or work in Sangamon County
- Have at least 2 years experience of full-time employment
Eligibility Requirements
- Attend Orientation session
- Attend at least 12 of 14 weekly program sessions
- Actively work and participate in meeting with project team throughout the program with completion and deliverables by the final program day
Graduation Requirements
- Chamber Members: $950
- Non-members: $1,350
- Payment Due: Full tuition must be paid by August 14, 2026
- Financial Assistance: Limited tuition assistance available; Chamber member applicants given first consideration
Cost
- Application evaluation based on professional and personal achievement, essay responses, and demonstrated leadership potential
- Chamber member applicants given first consideration; non-members considered if additional spots available
Selection Process
- Orientation: September 2, 2026
- Weekly Sessions: September 3 - December 10, 2026 (Thursdays and Wednesdays, 8:30-11:30 a.m.)
- Graduation: January 29, 2027
