Funder: Lutheran Development Society of Sacramento (LDSS)

Geographic Scope: Lutheran congregations located within a 50-mile radius of Sacramento, CA

Award Amount: Up to $5,000 per congregation for the grant year 2026

Eligibility

• Only Lutheran congregations within a 50-mile radius of Sacramento
• Must be members of LDSS
• Membership dues of $100 must be paid by January 31, 2026
• Each congregation may request up to $5,000 total for the grant year 2026

Evaluation Criteria

Applications are evaluated based on whether the program:
• Is innovative and creative, and will make a difference in the community
• Clearly states purpose/goal, addresses a specific need, and identifies the target audience
• Is covered by a clear and detailed budget, including both expenses and sources of revenue
• Involves congregational monies
• Is evaluated for effectiveness, with clear measures of progress toward its goal

• Grant Committee may conduct a short interview upon request
• Applications must be submitted electronically via Google Forms
