Latino Board Leadership Academy (LBLA)

Overview:
A comprehensive 10-week leadership training program designed to train Latinos to serve as board members of nonprofit organizations. LBLA addresses the leadership gap in the nonprofit sector by recruiting, training, and guiding Latinos to maximize their power of giving and community impact.

Program Goals:

  • Recruit and train Latino leaders for nonprofit board service

  • Develop skills as leaders and integrate cultural competence

  • Build a strong network of Latino peers across Silicon Valley

  • Address representation gaps in nonprofit leadership
  • Program Impact:

  • Over 400 Senior Fellows (Graduates) as of 2019

  • 75% of graduates serve as board members

  • 70% serve as board members in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties
  • Eligibility:

  • Latino individuals interested in nonprofit board service

  • Demonstrated commitment to community leadership

  • Available to participate in 10-week academy (may be offered online or in-person)
  • Class Information:

  • Class XVI mentioned in April 2020 materials

  • Class XVIII announced for 2021

  • Limited seating available
