Latinos in Technology Scholarship

Overview:
The Latinos in Technology Scholarship is designed to address the underrepresentation of Latinos in the tech workforce. Although Latinos represent 28% of the total population in Silicon Valley, only 3% are in the tech workforce. With 39% of the K-12 student population identified as Latino, the foundation seeks to create a robust pipeline of Latino professionals in STEM fields.

Eligibility:

  • College juniors and seniors in good standing

  • Pursuing a college degree in a STEM-related field

  • Latino students in need of financial support

  • First-generation college students prioritized (176 out of 220 recipients were first-generation)
  • Program Impact:

  • As of 2019, 220+ Latinos in Technology Scholars have been awarded

  • 88 out of 160 scholars are female

  • 131 out of 160 are first-generation college students
  • Additional Benefits:

  • Scholars are placed as candidates in internship programs with investors or partner companies (Intel, KLA, LAM Research, Western Digital, Turo)

  • Direct connection to corporate internship opportunities

  • Networking and mentorship opportunities
