Overview

The Lahontan Community Foundation was founded in 2002 by the members, homeowners and employees of the Lahontan Community. Each year, the Lahontan Community Foundation brings the community together, to have fun and raise money to support the efforts of local non-profit organizations and community programs making a difference in the Truckee and North Tahoe Region.

The Lahontan Community Foundation Fund will award grants to non-profit organizations working toward the betterment of our community.

Eligibility

* To apply for a grant from Lahontan Community Foundation Fund, the following eligibility requirements must be met:

* Be recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt organization that has held its tax-exempt status for two years or more; 501(c)(3) public charity, government agency, school and/or faith-based organization in good standing
* Be incorporated in California or Nevada; in good standing with the respective state
* Directly serve the Truckee-North Tahoe Region in one of the following program areas:
* Arts, Culture and Civic Life
* Education and Youth Development
* Environment, Recreation, and Animal Welfare
* Health and Human Services

Ineligibility

* Applications for direct religious activities; political activism such as lobbying, legislative activities, or legal action; organizations that discriminate based on race, color, creed, age, sex, sexual orientation, or national origin will not be considered.
