Overview: A free culinary skills pre-apprenticeship program for young adults, offered through Kalamazoo RESA's CareerNOW program in collaboration with local organizations and FireKeepers Casino Hotel.

  • Duration: 2 weeks (August 14-24) for pre-apprenticeship course, Monday-Thursday, 9am-4pm

  • Location: Marshall Opportunity High School, 225 E Watson St, Albion, MI 49224

  • Certifications: Up to five ServSafe Certifications earned at no cost

  • Paid Internship: 4-week paid internship at FireKeepers Casino Hotel, 20 hours per week

  • Career Advancement: Potential job interview for full-time, permanent position with competitive wage package

  • Apprenticeship: Successful candidates enrolled in exclusive 1-year Production Cook Apprenticeship program
  • Eligibility:

  • Ages 18-24

  • Residents of Kalamazoo and Calhoun counties
