KiDs Grants

Overview: The Kappa Delta Foundation KiDs Grants are designed to allow Kappa Delta alumnae chapters and individuals an opportunity to have a direct, positive impact on families and children in their community.

Geographic Scope: United States (alumnae chapters and individual Kappa Deltas)

Focus Areas:

  • Quality programming for children and families

  • Prevention-oriented projects

  • Child abuse prevention initiatives

  • Programs benefiting children in local communities
  • Funding Details:

  • Total annual funding: $25,000

  • Maximum per recipient: $10,000 for a single recipient organization

  • Award frequency: Annual
  • Eligibility:

  • Kappa Delta alumnae chapters

  • Individual Kappa Delta members

  • Projects must partner with local non-profit agencies

  • Encourages partnerships with collegiate chapters, alumnae chapters, or other Kappas

    Application Process

    Online Application:

  • Applications are submitted online using KD user credentials at kappadelta.org

  • If you don't remember your password, go to kappadelta.org to claim your profile or reset it

  • Required Documents & Information:
    1. Recipient organization's mission statement
    2. Organization's history
    3. Proof of tax-exemption (letter from the IRS)
    4. Listing and contact information of key staff and board of directors
    5. Letter of endorsement from the organization
    6. Detailed budget with specific descriptions (avoid generic terms like "supplies")
    7. Public relations plan showing community visibility

    Application Tips:
    1. Planning Phase:
    - Create a Word document with application questions for the organization to answer
    - Copy/paste responses into the online application
    - Identify a grant coordinator or writer at the organization to help review your proposal

    2. Project Description:
    - Clearly explain the need or problem being addressed
    - Show sustainability (how long the impact will last)
    - Demonstrate existing connection to the organization if possible
    - Explain how KD will be involved and visible
    - Detail annual, ongoing, or one-time event structure
    - Explain how you'll build on existing events to ensure sustainability

    3. Budget:
    - Be specific with line items
    - Include organization's overall budget context
    - Show what is essential, what is needed, and what would be nice to have
    - Request amounts appropriate to the project scope
    - Demonstrate understanding that partial funding may be granted
    - Provide detailed descriptions for all budget categories

    4. Recognition & Visibility:
    - Explain type of recognition Kappa Delta Foundation will receive
    - Identify any naming opportunities
    - Confirm KDF inclusion in donor societies
    - Detail promotion and marketing plans
