Kids’ Chance of South Carolina Scholarship Grant

The Kids’ Chance of South Carolina Scholarship provides financial assistance to children of South Carolina workers who have been killed or seriously injured in work-related incidents. Introduction
Kids’ Chance of South Carolina is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides scholarships for children of workers who have been killed, seriously injured, or experienced a debilitating illness in a work-related incident. Current annual scholarship amounts range from [$500 - $3,000] and are determined based on the student’s financial need.

Eligibility

Scholarships are awarded twice a year and students may apply every semester for which they are eligible.Student EligibilityBetween 16-25 years old at the time of the applicationChild who is a dependent of a worker killed or seriously injured in a work-related accident occupational disease with a South Carolina employer in which benefits are paid under the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Act. Demonstrated financial need to pay for post-secondary educationAccepted or already enrolled at:trade/vocational school; industrial/commercial training; junior college/community college; undergraduate program at a college; or a graduate program at a college.Completion of the FAFSA – the Free Application for Federal Student Aid – for students attending a 2-year or 4-year college or university.Citizenship: U.S. Citizens Only
