Kids' Chance of South Carolina - Scholarship Application Introduction Kids’ Chance of South Carolina is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides scholarships for children of workers who have been killed, seriously injured, or experienced a debilitating illness in a work-related incident. Scholarships are awarded twice a year and students may apply every semester for which they are eligible.Student EligibilityBetween 16-25 years old at the time of the applicationChild who is a dependent of a worker killed or seriously injured in a work-related accident occupational disease with a South Carolina employer in which benefits are paid under the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Act. Demonstrated financial need to pay for post-secondary educationAccepted or already enrolled at:trade/vocational school; industrial/commercial training; junior college/community college; undergraduate program at a college; or a graduate program at a college.Completion of the FAFSA – the Free Application for Federal Student Aid – for students attending a 2-year or 4-year college or university.Citizenship: U.S. Citizens Only
