Kids' Chance NM Scholarship Renewal Application Grant

The Kids' Chance NM Scholarship Renewal Application provides financial support to students whose parents have suffered work-related injuries or fatalities. Eligible applicants must be between 17 to 24 years old, maintain a GPA of 2.5, and be enrolled in an accredited educational institution. The scholarship covers tuition, books, housing, and other educational expenses, ensuring that students affected by family tragedies receive the help they need to further their education.

Introduction
Students whose parent’s on-the-job injury resulted in death or serious disabilities and have been financially affected are eligible. Each applicant must meet the approval of the academic selection committee. Scholarship monies paid directly to educational institution.

Eligibility

A child of a parent who sustained a work-related serious injury or fatality, covered by the worker’s compensation laws of Wisconsin. Parent’s injury or death must have been a compensable or compromised claim.The parent’s injury or death had a financial impact on the family.Students should be between ages of 17 to 24.Must have a high school diploma, GED/HSED, or a high school student in good standing (who will graduate in academic year).Applications can be made during a students’ high school senior year.The applicant must maintain a grade point average of 2.5 with a minimum of 12 credit hours or better to re-apply every semester/quarter.The scholarship may cover items such as tuition, books, housing, meals or course fees.

Ineligibility

Graduate-level students are not eligible.
