Kentucky Social Welfare Foundation The Kentucky Social Welfare Foundation is an independent charitable foundation that provides grants to non-profit organizations serving Kentucky residents. Purpose The Kentucky Social Welfare Foundation (KSWF) was established in 1948 to improve the quality of life and opportunity among Kentuckians who experience diminished economic opportunities, whether due to poverty, poor health, disability, or inequality. The Board of Trustees is dedicated to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB). Further, KSWF will continue to achieve a future that is more diverse, equitable, and inclusive for all. We embrace access to success and will treat all with fairness and dignity including, but not limited to all families in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The expectation of the KSWF grant recipients is to share our core values in their agency and work. Targeting our grants to rural areas, small towns, and geographic areas of special need, KSWF seeks to promote efficient and effective social welfare organizations and methods for providing “self-help and training.” KSWF fulfills this purpose through monetary grants to established non-profit organizations that will: “enlarge and broaden their scope of operation” and/ordevelop and implement “new projects to provide services which no agency, already in operation, is planned or equipped to extend.”Eligibility
