If the deadline falls on a weekend or a federally recognized holiday, applications are due on the next business day by 11:59 p.m. The Kendrick Foundation was established in 1977 by E. Gretchen Kendrick of Brookline, Massachusetts to promote the dissemination of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The majority of funds are distributed to charitable organizations that spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ in America by radio or television broadcasts or by such other medium (electronic or otherwise) as the trustees may deem to be a feasible approximation to radio or television broadcasting in light of then-existing technology.

Eligibility

A substantial portion of each year's grants is made for the purchase of broadcast and recording equipment.In making equipment grants, the Trustees favor proposals for the entire purchase price of the equipment needed or partial funding for equipment if funding for the balance of the purchase price has been secured previously by the applicant organization. The Trustees also consider assisting organizations with development and production costs associated with specific broadcast programs.In selecting each year's recipients, the Trustees are guided by a desire to achieve geographic balance within the continental United States.
