KC CAN! Grant Program

Funder: Kansas City Children's Assistance (KC CAN!)

Geographic Scope: Kansas City area

Mission Alignment: Supports initiatives that create long-term solutions towards improving the lives of Kansas City's children, with emphasis on projects related to meeting basic needs, education, and wellness.

Eligibility

• 501(c)(3) organizations only
• Projects must be defined and completable in less than one year duration (target 3-6 months from inception to completion)
• Financial commitment must be fully fundable from annual KC CAN! budget

Project Evaluation Criteria

Projects are evaluated on overall merit and do not need to match all criteria:
• Addresses a clear, identified area of need
• May otherwise go unaddressed through normal means (e.g., organization's operations budget or capital campaign)
• Opportunities for professional capabilities and volunteer effort from Executive and Advisory Boards
• Can be encapsulated into a defined project less than one year in duration
• Provides ongoing, long-term benefit

What KC CAN! Does NOT Fund

• Grants to or for individuals
• Political organizations or activities
• Endowments
• Any type of labor costs
• Past operating deficits

Reporting Requirements

• Financial budget versus actual report
• Outcome results
• Photo and/or video if applicable
