Karen Cox Memorial Grant Program

Overview: The Montana Professional Teaching Foundation created the Karen Cox Memorial Grants to support Montana educators who spend their own money on classroom supplies and enrichment projects for their students. Named for Karen Cox, one of Montana's great teachers, these grants are not intended to replace school funds but rather to support teachers who dig into their own pockets to help their students succeed.

Geographic Scope: Montana

Eligibility:

  • Current members of MFPE (Montana Federation of Public Employees)

  • Teachers and educators at all grade levels

  • Education support professionals
  • Award Amount: Up to $500 maximum per grant

  • Background:
    The grants are small but mighty. In many cases, they purchase materials schools can use for years. Past recipients have used grants for items such as sensory tools, wobble chairs, computer equipment, art supplies, and specialized learning materials.

    2. Complete the Application - You may either:
    - Fill out the form digitally and print
    - Print and fill out by hand

    3. Mail Submission - Submit hard copy of the completed application to:

    4. Deadline - Grant applications must be received by December 2 each year
