K2 Gus Mendez Valor Initiative Individual Award

The K2 Gus Mendez Valor Initiative Individual Award is designed to support past and present military personnel and their families with special needs and/or life-changing medical and financial circumstances through services, support and funds.

Geographic Scope: Arizona (US) - Local program

Eligible Applicants:

• Past and present military personnel
• Families of past and present military personnel

Focus Areas - Supported Services:

• Adaptive equipment
• Mental health and wellness support
• Therapy services
• Medical support
• Training or education
• Basic necessities
• Educational and medical enrichment

Selection Criteria: The Valor Initiative Committee considers only the following factors:

• Service
• Medical Need
• Financial Need

Ineligibility:

• Members of the corporation's board of directors and their children are not eligible

Award Distribution: If approved, all services will be paid directly to the vendor

Key Information:

• Applications reviewed quarterly by grant committee
• Committee selection is final and objective, non-discriminatory basis
• Complete applications required for review

Application Process

Requirements:

• Applications must be filled out in their entirety to be reviewed
• Applicant must be past or present military personnel OR family member of same

Review Timeline:

• All applications received and reviewed on a quarterly basis
• Committee selection is final

Ineligibility:

• Board members' children cannot apply

Payment:

• Services are paid directly to vendor upon approval
