Junior Scholars Awards and Grants Program

Funder: International Center for Law & Economics (ICLE)

Overview: ICLE's 2023 Awards and Grants Program for Junior Scholars seeks to recognize junior scholars doing important research using economic methods applied to contemporary and emerging law and public-policy issues. Awards and grants are considered on a rolling basis.

    Eligibility

  • Applicant Type: All pre-tenure academics including post-docs, fellows, and individuals in non-tenure track academic research appointments
  • Nomination Required: Yes - Consideration requires nomination by a current ICLE academic affiliate or scholar

Award Types

Research Awards:

  • Amount: $1,000 honorarium

  • Purpose: Recognize publishable papers (including those substantially complete but not yet submitted for publication) completed primarily in the past 12 months
  • Research Grants:

  • Amount: Generally $7,500 (larger awards may be made in rare instances to support specific research costs)

  • Purpose: Support new or recently undertaken projects with relevance to current or emerging policy topics

  • Distribution: May be awarded to individual researchers as honoraria or, at their discretion, to their institutions
