JSDC Workforce Pathways Program

Program Type: Payroll reimbursement program for employers hiring university and college student interns

Purpose

Designed to bridge the gap between local employers and the next generation of skilled professionals by supporting meaningful, paid work experiences for students. The program helps meet immediate business needs while fostering long-term community growth.

Funding

• Amount: Up to $3,500 in payroll reimbursement per intern
• Reimbursement Rate: Up to 50% of projected payroll cost
- Example: If projected cost is $8,000, eligible for up to $3,500; if $4,000, eligible for $2,000

Eligibility Requirements

Employer Requirements:

Employer and internship position must be located in Stutsman County

Must pay intern at least $15 per hour

Must apply before intern begins work

Cannot receive reimbursement for same intern for more than one round of funding

Must have full-time position available for intern to transition to post-graduation

Intern Requirements:

Must be junior or senior in college/university OR within two years of completing their program

Internship does not have to be for academic credit (but encouraged)

Application Timeline

• Review Schedule: JSDC meets quarterly to award eligible employers
• Selection: JSDC selects eligible employers for reimbursement after deadlines
• Award Determination: Specific dollar amounts determined for each application selected at time of award
