John Jorgensen Theater Award Scholarship

Overview: An endowed scholarship established to honor John Jorgensen, former longtime president and member of the Casper College Foundation board. The scholarship supports incoming freshman students with demonstrated involvement in theater.

  • Recipient of a Casper College Theater Activities Award
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • Enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours
  • Wyoming resident
  • Graduated from a Natrona County high school or home-schooled in Natrona County
  • Can be enrolled in any degree program

Background

John Jorgensen was a longtime supporter of Casper College Foundation. His years of dedication are evident through multiple new buildings across campus. He was an active participant in plays produced by the Casper College Theatre and Dance Department for many years. In addition to his volunteerism, Jorgensen supports the college through donations including two pieces of art: the "Best Friends" bronze in front of the Casper College Student Union and University of Wyoming at Casper building, and the "Moongate" artwork in front of the new Visual Arts Center.
