Fund History

John E. Raether (1920-1994) was born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. After serving in the United States Army, he began his career at Manitowoc Engineering as an international serviceman for the crane division. He traveled extensively around the world—Australia, France, Indonesia, Italy, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Spain, and Venezuela—but always returned to his hometown and community. John's life experiences inspired him to help local students attend institutions of higher learning so they may pursue rewarding careers. Annual distributions are issued to Lincoln, Lutheran, and Roncalli High Schools for students pursuing post-secondary education.
