The Jim and Linda Pivarnik Women’s Health, Sport & Physical Activity Travel Award supports members in covering travel costs to present research focused on women's health, sport, and physical activity at the ACSM Annual Meeting. Open to graduate and medical students, fellows, and early career members, this award encourages participation from all genders and emphasizes the importance of women's contributions to health and sports science. Travel and Research Awards Giving back to our members is one way ACSM invests in the future of sports medicine and exercise science. Students and professionals who meet eligibility criteria are welcome to apply for any of our prestigious research and travel awards. Jim and Linda Pivarnik Women’s Health, Sport & Physical Activity Travel Award The Jim and Linda Pivarnik Women’s Health, Sport & Physical Activity Travel Award assists members with travel expenses to present their scholarly work focused on women’s health, sport and/or physical activity, including research focused on women, clinical care of women, or other work focused primarily on women, at the ACSM Annual Meeting. The award is offered through generous donations to the Women’s Health, Sport & Physical Activity Fund. Major donors to the fund include Larry Boot, Barbara Drinkwater, Ph.D., FACSM, and and Linda and James Pivarnik, PhD, FACSM. Winners are required to attend the Josephine L. Rathbone & Barbara L. Drinkwater Named Lecture at the ACSM Annual Meeting. Winners are encouraged to attend the ACSM Honors at the ACSM Annual Meeting.Eligibility

Open to graduate and medical students enrolled in full-time programs, fellows, and early career members within two years of receiving a postgraduate degree or completion of clinical training. All genders are welcome to apply. Applicants must be the first author and presenter of a poster or oral presentation accepted at the ACSM Annual Meeting. You must be a member of this organization to apply for this award - become a member. Applicants must be an ACSM national member in good standing before applying. ACSM chapter membership alone does not fulfill this requirement.Ineligibility
