Jefferson Foundation, a foundation created from the sale of the former Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, Missouri, aims “to provide support for charitable and educational activities that promote individual and community health and well-being in Jefferson County, Missouri.” Jefferson Foundation board and staff understand the strong correlations between higher education attainment and positive health outcomes, both for individuals and the communities in which they live. Since 2014, Jefferson Foundation has partnered with The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis to provide scholarship grants and advising support to high school students in Jefferson County. The Jefferson Foundation Bravo Grant Program will provide scholarships of up to $8,000 per academic year to students who are residents of Jefferson County, Missouri and have overcome extraordinary barriers to their education. These scholarships are renewable through graduation or up to 10 semesters.

Eligibility

To be eligible for consideration, applicants must meet the following criteria: Demonstrate significant financial need, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or similar need calculations. This opportunity is designed for students who experienced significant financial need. Therefore, students with a Student Aid Index (SAI) over $2,819 must have significant and extenuating circumstances to be considered. Have achieved a minimum cumulative 2.0 grade point average Plan to attend an accredited, nonprofit college or university Be seeking a first technical, first associate, or first bachelor’s degree

Ineligibility

Ministry and divinity degrees, are ineligible for funding. Students who have already obtained a bachelor’s degree are not eligible to apply.
