Jazz & Heritage Music Relief Fund

Geographic Scope: Louisiana (statewide)

Purpose: Support Louisiana's music community who have lost income amid the COVID-19 pandemic, including musicians, music industry workers, and culture bearers affected by canceled music events.

Eligibility:

• Current Louisiana residents
• Musicians, music industry workers, and Black Masking Indians
• Those facing financial hardships due to event cancellations
• Dependence on events as substantial part of income
• Significant loss of income due to pandemic
• Have not found supplemental employment
• Continue to experience economic hardships

Background:

• As of March 2021, relief fund grants had been awarded to 2,500 musicians, music industry workers, and Black Masking Indians with distributions totaling just over $1,000,000
• An additional $800,000 raised through community partners and donors
• By January 2022, the Foundation had distributed over $2 million in COVID relief aid
