Janesville Multicultural Teachers Scholarship Grant

The Janesville Multicultural Teachers Scholarship, offered by The Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, supports multicultural students who aspire to become educators. Eligible candidates must be graduating high school students from Janesville Charter Schools, Craig High School, or Parker High School, and identify as African American, Latino, Asian, or Native American. Recipients agree to apply for employment in the School District of Janesville after certification and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75 to remain eligible.

The Community Foundation is a repository for more than 700 charitable funds worth more than $50 million. We service these funds by managing the investment, encouraging and supporting additions, overseeing the disbursement of grants and scholarships, and managing the requisite government paperwork.
The Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin serves communities in nine Southern Wisconsin counties: Crawford, Grant, Green, Iowa, Lafayette, Rock, Sauk, Vernon, and Walworth.
Available to students from: Janesville Charter Schools, Janesville Craig High School, Janesville Parker High School

Eligibility

Established as a renewable scholarship program for multicultural students intending to pursue a career in education and apply to the School District of Janesville for employment. Applicant must be a graduating high school student; Applicants must be identified as, African American, Latino, Asian, or Native American on school enrollment/registration forms; Applicants must be pursuing a career in the education field; and, Applicants must be willing to sign an agreement stating that upon receiving Educator Certification, they agree to apply for employment with the School District of Janesville. If offered a position, applicants must be willing to complete three years of successful employment with the School District of Janesville. To remain in the program, the student must hold a minimum 2.75 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
