James Lee Wilson Award Grant

The James Lee Wilson Award, presented by the Society for Sedimentary Geology (SEPM), recognizes outstanding contributions to sedimentary geology by young scientists. This prestigious award encourages emerging researchers to excel in their fields and fosters the growth of sedimentary geology as a discipline. Notably, there are no age restrictions for nominees, and recognition is open to individuals beyond SEPM members, emphasizing inclusivity and the importance of diverse contributions to the science.

SEPM
(Society for Sedimentary Geology) is an international not-for-profit
Society. Through its network of international members, the Society is
dedicated to the dissemination of scientific information on
sedimentology, stratigraphy, paleontology, environmental sciences,
marine geology, hydrogeology, and many additional related specialties.
The
Society supports the science and its members in their professional
objectives by publication of two major scientific journals, the Journal of Sedimentary Research (JSR) and PALAIOS,
in addition to producing research conferences, short courses, and
Special Publications. Through SEPM's Continuing Education, Publications,
Meetings, and other programs, members can both gain and exchange
information pertinent to their geologic specialties.
The SEPM Foundation Inc. raises
and distributes funds in support of SEPM activities. Through various
funds, support is given to student activities, publications, short
courses, research conferences and other appropriate endeavors.
The James Lee Wilson Award is bestowed in recognition of "Excellence in Sedimentary Geology by a Young Scientist." It is important that the Society continue to recognize those that have contributed to the science of sedimentary geology.
