Summary

The ISF Congressional Policy Internship offers a unique opportunity for American Muslim students to gain experience in legislative and public policy work. This selective, nonpartisan program promotes diversity on Capitol Hill, providing networking opportunities with congressional representatives and experts in the field. Interns will participate in educational workshops designed to foster meaningful discussions and inspire the next generation of policymakers. Applications are accepted at different times throughout the year for Spring, Summer, and Fall internships.

Overview

NOTE: ISF will begin accepting applications at the end of August for the Spring Congressional Policy Internship with an October deadline; at the beginning of October for the Summer Internship with a December 23 deadline; and in January for the Fall Internship with a March deadline. Policy Making The ISF Congressional Policy Internship is a highly selective, nonpartisan program devoted to promoting and encouraging diversity and inclusion on Capitol Hill. Whether interning in Summer, Fall, or Spring, interns will gain real-world experience working on legislative and public policy issues. Goal The ISF Congressional Internship Program aims to expose American Muslim students to the privileges and responsibilities of working in the halls of Capitol Hill, and hopefully inspire a new generation of American Muslim policymakers. Opportunities An important aspect of the program is the many networking opportunities that interns have with representatives of congressional offices, government agencies, interest groups, think-tanks and nonprofits in DC. Through our educational workshops led by high-profile consultants, activist, nonprofit leaders, attorneys and public figures, we train our interns to engage and create meaningful discussions.
