Innovations in Education Grants

Program Overview
The Innovation in Education grant program supports the innovation and creativity of Somerville educators in their pursuit of a high quality and engaging educational experience for all students.

Geographic Scope
Somerville Public Schools, Somerville, MA

    • Funding Focus Areas
    Grants fund various classroom-based and school-wide programs that fall outside the regular school budget, including but not limited to:

  • Integrating robotics and engineering into a school's science curriculum

  • Organizing a poetry slam within the school setting

  • Starting a school/classroom partnership with a local organization

  • Attending workshops to learn and practice teaching strategies that support learners of all levels

  • Organizing in-classroom author visits

  • Any program that encourages joy in learning, curiosity, and engagement
