Pittsburgh Foundation Established in 1945, The Pittsburgh Foundation is one of the nation’s oldest community foundations and as of 2022 is the 18th largest of more than 750 similar foundations across the United States. As a community foundation, its resources comprise endowment funds established by individuals, businesses and organizations with a passion for charitable giving and fulfilling the Foundation’s mission of improving quality of life for all in the region. Indiana County Endowment Grant The mission of the Indiana County Endowment (ICE) is to meet needs in Indiana County by providing grants to qualified nonprofit organizations. ICE recognizes that community organizations require assistance with programs, products, and approaches in order to meet demonstrated cultural, ecological, social, educational, recreational and economic needs. ICE encourages programs that will enrich the community, encouraging both individuals and organizations to develop creative ideas and initiatives to aid the community, and encouraging the wide possible citizen involvement in advancing the social, economic and cultural development of Indiana County, PA. ICE provides seed monies to help activate a venture conceived, designed and executed by a group, club or organization within Indiana County; as a grant-in-aid for a research or study project for the benefit of Indiana County; provides support for specific events; and/or provides help to initiate activities to secure or improve property for the general welfare of Indiana County.
