Impact on the Plains

Overview: A "Shark Tank"-style social innovation competition hosted by United Way of the Plains that awards funding to nonprofit organizations for innovative and impactful programs addressing community challenges.

Geographic Scope: South-central Kansas service area (8-county region: Sedgwick, Butler, Barber, Cowley, Harper, Kingman, Pratt, and Sumner Counties)

  • 2025: $105,000 total awarded ($40,000 first place, $30,000 second place, $20,000 third place, $10,000 fourth place, plus $5,000 People's Choice Award)

  • Eligibility:

  • Nonprofit organizations

  • Programs operating 1-4 years with innovative solutions
