IMPACT: A Nonprofit Capacity Building Program

Geographic Scope: Van Wert County

IMPACT is an annual nonprofit capacity building program designed to increase the capacity of nonprofit organizations by developing and strengthening their skills, instincts, abilities, processes, and resources. The program serves as an informational resource and catalyst for stronger collaboration among nonprofit organizations, strengthening local nonprofit leaders and enhancing collective community impact.

Program Structure:

• Seven nonprofit organizations accepted per year
• Two attendees permitted per nonprofit per session
• Monthly sessions held on the last Wednesday of each month
• Time: 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM
• Location: Van Wert County Foundation conference room
• Program begins in February

Facilitators:

• Professionals from The Ohio Association of Nonprofit Organizations (OANO)
• Local presenters for Human Resources & Fundraising
• Van Wert County Foundation staff for Grant Writing workshop

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be a Van Wert County nonprofit organization
• Must be governed by a board of directors
• (Prior version required: 501(c)(3) status and receipt of VWCF funding within past three years)

Application Process

Key Dates:

• Application Deadline: Friday, December 20 (annual)
• Program Begins: February (typically last Wednesday of month)
• Sessions: Monthly on last Wednesday of each month, 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM

Eligibility Requirements:

1. Be a Van Wert County nonprofit organization
2. Be governed by a board of directors

Application Submission:

1. Complete application available online
2. Submit by deadline
3. Maximum 7 organizations accepted per year
4. Each organization may send 2 attendees per session

Program Participation:

1. Attend monthly sessions (February through ongoing)
2. Sessions held at VWCF conference room
3. Participate in workshops on organizational development topics
4. Network with other nonprofit leaders
