Impact 100 Greater Chesapeake Transformational Grant The goal of Impact 100 is to fund projects with a high potential for community impact. To achieve this, we have a unique approach to providing the funding needed to achieve that goal. Each year, we pool the funds contributed by our members—-$1000 per member—-to determine the final grant amount. We announce the final grant amount in May of each year and solicit applications from nonprofits that fall into one of the following categories: Arts & Culture Initiatives that cultivate, develop, educate, preserve, and enrich the theater, museums, both visual and performing arts and literary opportunities in Anne Arundel County. Education Initiatives that advance learning opportunities and improve education in Anne Arundel County. Environment, Preservation & Recreation Initiatives that improve, enhance or restore the surroundings in Anne Arundel County;encourage research, public awareness and education relating to the environment;promote conservation of our natural resources;restore, preserve, revitalize or enhance recreational facilities, and/orpromote animal welfare Family Initiatives that strengthen and enhance the lives of children and families in Anne Arundel County. All Organizations applying to Impact 100 Greater Chesapeake must be/have the following: Tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue CodeBased in or collaborating with organizations in Anne Arundel CountyBe free of legal actions declared, including current or pending conflicts Projects eligible to apply for the Impact 100 Greater Chesapeake grant must:Serve residents of, and expend funds fully in Anne Arundel County Be a new program, capital project, or expansion of an existing program or a new or expanded collaborative effort of several non-profit organizationsHave a total project budget for the full Impact 100 available grantExpend funds within 24 months of the October award dateDesignate one of the following focus areas:Arts & CultureEducationEnvironment, Recreation & PreservationFamilyHealth & WellnessGrant applicants must have a plan for sustainabilityAn appropriate funding request for Impact100 would be for services performed in a new way (innovation), more services of the same kind provided more often to their current population (deepening), or expanding their current service to a new population (expansion).Ineligibility
The following are deemed ineligible:Debt reduction, operational deficits, operating expenses or overhead.The exception to this is the request for items of an operating or overhead nature that are a part of a new or expanded initiative or project to be funded by IMPACT 100. Salaries can be covered by grant funds as long as the salary is paid to someone with significant involvement in the grant initiative. A sustainability plan must be provided in the event the salary is required beyond the grant period.Grants to individualsEndowment fundingInterim or bridge fundingFaith-based projects or programs which require participation in activities of a particular faith, denomination or religion in order to benefit from the project or program.Capital improvements or renovations to property for the grant project if the organization does not own or have a lease of at least five years.Partisan, legislative or political activityFocus Areas & Funding Uses
