IFPDA Foundation Book Award

Overview: Annual award honoring excellence in research, scholarship, and the discussion of new ideas in the field of fine prints.

Award Amount: $3,000 to one outstanding recipient and publication

Eligibility:

  • Books, articles, or catalogues on fine prints published during the prior year

  • Works demonstrating excellence in research and scholarship on printmaking, print history, and connoisseurship
  • Focus Areas:

  • Printmaking techniques and history

  • Print scholarship and connoisseurship

  • New ideas in the field of fine prints

  • Artist monographs and catalogues raisonnés

  • Thematic studies of printmaking
  • Selection Process:

  • Jury members selected according to expertise in printmaking and related fields

  • Submissions vetted by jury members

  • Consideration given to original ideas, fresh research, and individual interpretations

  • Award announced at the IFPDA Print Fair
  • Background: Founded in 2004 to highlight and promote published works on fine prints. Winners receive recognition from one of the most recognizable bodies in the print world.
