Curatorial Internships

Overview: The IFPDA Foundation provides funding for curatorial internships in museum print and drawing collections. Program recognizes the importance of early career exposure to prints and drawings.

Geographic Scope: United States and international museums

Focus Areas:

  • Object-based experience in museum print and drawing collections

  • Training under guidance of experienced print specialists

  • Introduction to curatorial practices in print departments
  • Eligibility:

  • Institutional applicants (museums and non-profit organizations)

  • Organizations must have established print and/or drawing collections

  • Institutions must have experienced print specialists to mentor interns
  • Internship Requirements:

  • May be offered in summer, spring, fall, or winter

  • Must be completed within 12 months of funding approval date

  • Internships are institutionally based
  • Background: Recognizing the importance of cultivating the next generation of print specialists, the IFPDA Foundation has funded internships at major institutions including The New York Public Library, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Eskenazi Museum of Art, and many others.
