Mission Statement To manage, conserve and protect Illinois' natural, recreational and cultural resources, further the public's understanding and appreciation of those resources, and promote the education, science and public safety of Illinois' natural resources for present and future generations. What is Pheasant Funding Grant? The Illinois Pheasant Fund portion involved in the Special Funds Grant Program provides for enhancing Pheasant wildlife habitat. Organized groups of volunteers from appropriate not-for-profit organizations and governmental entities develop projects and submit applications to the Department to help fund their projects. The grants are competitive and are evaluated for their merit.
