Overview

Idea Lab Grants

Geographic Scope: Brookline Public Schools, Brookline, MA

Eligibility: Educators currently employed by the Public Schools of Brookline

Focus: Hands-on, experiential learning projects for K-12 students

Award Amount: Up to $1,000 per grant

Purpose: Funding for new, creative classroom ideas that bring hands-on, experiential learning to students. Examples include:

  • Fabric arts in pre-K classrooms

  • Student-built functional wind turbines

  • Student-created zines with writing and artwork

  • Outdoor sensory learning projects (mud kitchens)

  • Language learning initiatives (improvisation for Spanish language learners)

  • Library lending projects

  • Cross-curricular projects (music and history collaborations)
  • Application Process: Online application submission followed by in-person pitches to the grant committee
