David E. Pradell Award

Geographic Scope: Brookline Public Schools, Brookline, MA

Eligibility: Middle-school teachers who are recipients of a BEF Teacher Grant

Focus: Work that:

  • Stimulates students' imagination and curiosity

  • Helps students develop self-assurance and self-esteem

  • Encourages student collaboration

  • Instills an abiding sense of social responsibility
  • Award Type: Annual monetary award presented to one middle-school Teacher Grant recipient

    Selection: Chosen by the BEF Teacher Grant committee of the Board of Directors

    Purpose: Memorial award honoring David E. Pradell, a beloved teacher at Lawrence and Driscoll Schools for over 30 years (until his death in September 2020 at age 90). Pradell was known for fostering creativity, curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning.
