Hunt Little Heroes Program

Organization: Hunt Military Communities Foundation (HMCF)

Program Focus: Recognition and support for military children ages 4-15 making positive community impact

Program Overview

The Hunt Little Heroes program recognizes and celebrates military children ages 4-15 years old who are making a positive impact within their communities or beyond. Launched in 2021, this annual program honors military children during the Month of the Military Child (April).

    Award Structure

  • 1st Place Winner: $500 monetary prize
  • 2nd Place Winner: $250 monetary prize
  • 3rd Place Winner: $150 monetary prize
  • All Participants: Special hero cape, mask, and letter of appreciation

    Award Details

    Each winner will receive:
  • Monetary prize (as listed above)
  • Special "coining" ceremony recognizing achievement in their community
  • Opportunity to make a charitable donation equal to their prize amount to an organization of their choice
  • Special hero cape and mask
  • Letter of appreciation

    Eligibility

  • Age: Children ages 4-15 years old
  • Requirement: Dependent children of military service members
  • Geographic: Open to all children of military families, not only those living within HMC housing communities

    Selection Criteria

    Winners are selected based on:
  • Quality of submission ("Hero Story")
  • Positive community impact demonstrated
  • Creativity and originality of entry

Application Process

Submission Methods: Multiple formats accepted

  • 300-word essay

  • Drawing

  • Video
  • Required Information

    Essay Option (300 words maximum):

  • Child's "Hero Story"

  • What they think it takes to be a hero

  • How they have been a positive influence in their community
  • Drawing Option:

  • Visual representation of their hero story

  • Description of what makes them a hero in their community
  • Video Option:

  • Child presents their hero story

  • Demonstrates community impact
  • Submission Details

    1. Create your submission (essay, drawing, or video)
    2. Submit through the Hunt Little Heroes website
    3. Include child's name, age, and parent contact information
    4. Provide clear description of community involvement
    5. Submit during the application window (typically March 15 - April 15 each year)
