    Award Structure

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be:

  • A high school senior or high school graduate, OR

  • A current post-secondary undergraduate at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, vocational school, or trade school, OR

  • Planning to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited institution for the entire upcoming academic year
  • Qualified applicants must be one of:

  • An active-duty Service Member, National Guard member, or Reservist of one of the five branches of the United States Armed Services (Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard) with current military identification, OR

  • A dependent of a Service Member (spouse or child) prepared to provide documentation of dependent status
  • Dependent Definition: Natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the service member's household or primarily supported by the service member.

    Residency: Candidates do not have to be residents of an HMC community to apply.

      Selection Criteria

      Scholarship recipients are selected based on:
    • Commitment to community involvement
    • Demonstrated leadership
    • Participation in school and community activities
    • Work experience
    • Statement of goals and aspirations
    • Unusual personal or family circumstances
    • Outside appraisal
    • Two essays (300 words or less each) responding to specific questions
