Houston Young Lawyers Foundation The Houston Young Lawyers Foundation was created in 1992 to support the charitable programs of young lawyers in Harris County. The Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality and availability of legal aid, health, human welfare, and education services provided by Greater Houston nonprofit organizations through targeted volunteering and grants, while building leadership capability through a deeper appreciation of giving. HYLF’s mission is to improve the quality and availability of legal aid, health, human welfare, and education. Through events and programs, we raise funds to support local charities that give back to the community in ways that further this mission. Through its Grant Program and Adopt-an-Angel Program, HYLF donates $50,000 a year toward these remarkable causes. Houston Young Lawyers Foundation Grants The Houston Young Lawyers Foundation (HYLF) Grant Program supports nonprofit organizations in Greater Houston by enhancing the quality and accessibility of legal aid, health services, human services, and educational programs. The program is designed to strengthen community-serving initiatives that improve the well-being of local residents, particularly those who are underserved or face significant barriers.HYLF awards grants in three formats: full funding of the requested amount, partial funding of the request, or matching grants in which HYLF matches newly raised funds up to a predetermined limit.
