Hope For Our Future Scholarships: G. Howard Wood, MD, Medical and Nursing Student Loan Trust Fund Grant

The Hope For Our Future Scholarships, offered by the Adena Health Foundation, support students pursuing careers in healthcare-related fields. Eligible applicants include those studying medicine, nursing, or allied health professions, particularly from the Chillicothe and Ross County areas. With a focus on inclusivity, scholarships are available to individuals with a minimum GPA of 3.0. This initiative aims to enhance career opportunities in a sector poised for growth, benefiting both students and the community.

The foundation is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Adena Health. This nonprofit corporation functions primarily as a fundraising organization to support the health system and the communities it serves. The foundation is separately incorporated as tax-exempt under IRC 501(c)(3) and as a supporting organization under IRC 509(a)(3).

Several scholarship opportunities are available for anyone living in Adena’s nine-county coverage area interested in pursuing a career in one of a number of disciplines connected with health care.
The Hope for our Future scholarships are for students pursuing a career that could be part of a health system. While this includes the positions you would normally associate with health care such as doctors, nurses, therapists, aides, it can also be accounting, finance, legal, human resources or any job found within a health system.

Students studying to become medical doctors, osteopathic doctors, registered nurses or studying any of the allied medical arts (AIM students). Residents of Chillicothe and/or Ross County or students who are graduates of a high school located in Chillicothe or Ross County are eligible.

Eligibility

Applicants must have a high school Grade Point Average of at least 3.0 and be receiving a high school diploma or have a GED score of at least 550 to be considered. Employees of Adena Health System are eligible. Decisions on the awarding of scholarships apply equally to all without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, age, gender, religion or disability.
